1. Who we are

Broadcast is a synchronized live-performance audio platform published by Point A Works LLC, a limited-liability company organized in the State of New York, United States. The app delivers coordinated audio to audience and performer phones during live performances.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who receives it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. If any of it is unclear, contact us using the information at the bottom of this page.

2. What data we collect and why

Broadcast collects only the data required to make the app function as a synchronized audio system during a live performance. We do not collect any data for advertising, marketing, analytics unrelated to functionality, or profiling. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with data brokers. We do not use your data to track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Approximate location (geofence check)

When you arm the app to join a performance, we compare your approximate location to a preconfigured venue geofence to verify you are at the performance. The comparison is performed at arm time only; we do not persistently store your location coordinates on the server. The approximate location is not shared with any third party.

Voice audio (talkback and narration only)

Performer and Stage Manager roles have push-to-talk features that transmit voice audio to other participants in the same performance in real time. The Stage Manager and Conductor roles can additionally send narration audio to all connected participants. Voice audio is relayed by the server in real time and is not persistently stored. Voice audio is not shared outside the performance session or with any third party. Audience-role users do not send any audio; their microphone is never activated by the app.

Performer nickname

Performer and Stage Manager roles are prompted to enter a short handle (typically initials or a first name) so operators can identify who is connected to the roster. The nickname is not linked to any external identity, is not verified, and is not shared with third parties. It is stored on the server for the duration of the show session and can be changed by the user at any time. Audience-role users are not prompted for a nickname.

Device identifier

Broadcast generates a unique identifier for each installation of the app so the server can correctly deliver audio and control messages to your specific device during a performance. The identifier is not linked to your Apple ID, Google account, email, phone number, or name.

Two additional device identifiers are generated by third-party services we use for essential functionality:

Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — a device push registration token used to deliver time-critical performance cues via push notification. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Expo Updates — a device identifier and build fingerprint used to deliver over-the-air app updates. Governed by Expo's Privacy Policy.

Diagnostic and synchronization data

The app reports diagnostic and synchronization information to the server so the server can keep all connected devices in audible lock-step. This includes:

Phone manufacturer, model, and operating system version
Current audio route (built-in speaker, wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones) and Bluetooth headphone name and hardware address prefix (Android only, when Bluetooth is in use)
Clock offset measurements, audio drift measurements, playback position reports, and buffer state reports

This information is used only for synchronization correction, audio route latency compensation, and Bluetooth latency calibration aggregation. Aggregated (anonymized) Bluetooth latency measurements may be retained to improve future users' experience on the same hardware.

3. What we do not collect

Broadcast does not collect, request, or receive any of the following:

Your legal name, email address, phone number, or physical address
Health, fitness, medical, or biometric information
Payment, credit, salary, or other financial information
Precise geographic location beyond the geofence comparison described above
Contents of your phone's contact list, photo library, or messages
Browsing or search history
Sensitive personal information (race, religion, political beliefs, sexual orientation, etc.)
Any information about your interactions with third-party services or advertising

4. Who receives your data

Point A Works LLC operates the Broadcast server, which receives the data described above during a performance. The server is hosted on Railway (US-based infrastructure).
Google receives Firebase Cloud Messaging registration tokens and standard diagnostic information related to push notification delivery.
Expo receives an installation identifier and build fingerprint to deliver over-the-air app updates.
Cloudflare hosts the audio files your app downloads during arm. Only anonymous HTTP requests are made; no personal data is sent.

We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

5. How long we keep your data

Real-time relay data (voice audio, sync telemetry) is held only in memory during the show session and is discarded when the session ends.
Server operational logs are retained for approximately 30 days for debugging purposes, then automatically deleted by the hosting provider.
Aggregated Bluetooth latency measurements (anonymized) may be retained indefinitely for lookup optimization.

6. International data transfers

Our servers are located in the United States. If you use Broadcast from outside the United States, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the app, you consent to this transfer.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights over your data:

Right to access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to deletion — request that we delete your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
Right to correction — request that we correct inaccurate data.
Right to object or restrict processing — object to specific processing activities.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

Broadcast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us.

9. Security

Data in transit between your device and the Broadcast server is protected by industry-standard TLS encryption (HTTPS / WSS). Server infrastructure is provided by Railway and follows their standard security practices. No data transmission or storage system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced within the app and reflected in the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
