Broadcast is a synchronized audio system for live performances. If you're having trouble installing the app, connecting to a show, or hearing audio, the fastest way to get help is to contact us directly. We answer email within one business day.
Broadcast needs a few permissions to work: notifications (so we can alert you when the show begins) and approximate location (so we can confirm you're at the venue). If you tapped "Don't Allow" on either prompt, go into your phone's Settings, find Broadcast, and enable both. Then reopen the app.
Broadcast compares your approximate location against the venue's geofence before letting you join. If you're outside the venue's boundary (for example, still in line outside), the check will fail. Move inside, wait a few seconds for your phone's location to refresh, and the check will re-run. If you're clearly inside the venue and still blocked, contact us — the venue geofence may need to be adjusted.
Check the obvious things first: is your phone's ringer switch on (iPhone) or media volume up (both iPhone and Android)? Are your headphones plugged in or paired? Is the show actually running (the app will tell you the current state on-screen)? If everything looks right but there's still no audio, try force-quitting the app and reopening it — this triggers a fresh sync with the show server.
Bluetooth headphones introduce a small delay (usually 100–400 milliseconds) between when the audio leaves the phone and when you hear it. Broadcast automatically compensates for this delay for most common headphones. If yours are a rarer model, you may hear a small offset relative to people using wired headphones — usually not noticeable, but if it is, wired headphones will always sync more tightly.
Brief cuts are usually a WiFi or cellular hiccup — the app recovers automatically within a few seconds. If audio has been out for more than 10–15 seconds and hasn't come back, force-quit and reopen the app; it will re-sync to the show's current position.
A typical 60-minute show uses about 5–15 percent of a modern phone's battery, depending on device age, headphone type, and screen usage. If you're worried about battery on your specific device, arrive with the phone fully charged or bring a small portable battery.
Broadcast collects only what it needs to function during a show: approximate location for the venue check, diagnostic information to keep audio in sync, and a per-installation identifier. We don't collect your name, email, phone number, or location beyond the geofence check. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
